Field Force Engineering Support to Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq presented at the Detroit Post of the Society of American Military Engineers
Engineering enthusiasts and industry professionals will be provided with a unique opportunity to learn about military engineering support and field efforts. The Detroit Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) will be hosting a presentation on Field Force Engineering Support to Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq.
The luncheon presentation, set for Wednesday, September 12th in Detroit, will be made by Major Jeff Jones. He is a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and led engineer soldiers throughout global military efforts. Major Jones’ presentation will focus on an effort conducted in the 2017 when the Combined Joint Force Land Component Command tasked the 334th EN DET with a technical reconnaissance mission for five destroyed bridges. The five bridges were crossings of the Tigris River in Mosul, Iraq. The 334th’s evaluated bridge damage, prepared a scope of temporary repairs, and provided detailed information to the USACE to accurately estimate costs for like-new replacements. To register for the luncheon, you can visit the SAME Detroit Post’s website or contact the post by email.
