U.S. EPA Planning PFAS Community Engagement Events in Michigan
The U.S. EPA is making plans for community engagement events in states that are being impacted by PFAS contamination. The first two states listed for the community engagement events are New Hampshire and Michigan.
The Michigan locations, dates, and times, are in the planning stages and are expected to be announced soon. The first community engagement event in the country will be held in Exeter, New Hampshire on June 25-26. The agenda for this two-day event provides a potential early look at the Michigan event structure. In New Hampshire, there will be a listening session on June 25 from 4:30 to 10 p.m. and a working session the following day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to the EPA, the New Hampshire marks the first community engagement event. EPA is planning to visit and engage with additional communities across the country throughout the summer. Information on these upcoming sessions, including Michigan, will also be available on the EPA website. The events will be open to the public. There will be an on-line registration process used for those who wish to attend the PFAS community engagement events.
